Activity Overview 

Tetanus is becoming rarer in both industrialized and developing nations due to an effective vaccination program. It is difficult to conduct trials on different treatment modalities in tetanus due to both logistical and ethical reasons. However, it is imperative that physicians are aware of the best evidence-based treatment strategies currently available to improve the outcome of patients. 

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.

These activities were planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists who encounter an unvaccinated patient who presents with signs and symptoms of tetanus.
