Activity Overview
Participants will hear firsthand from past and present Iowa Pharmacy Association (IPA) staff who will describe their journey to a standard of care regulatory framework for the pharmacy profession in the state. Each step of the journey will be discussed including engagement with,and gainingsupport from,Iowa pharmacy professionals and the Iowa Board of Pharmacy;advocacy efforts with the IowaLegislature and third party payers; the Board of Pharmacyrule making process;and addressing the challenges associated with standard of care implementation.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.
This activity was planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who are interested in pursuing adoption of a standard of care regulatory model for the pharmacy profession in their state.
