Obesity is a chronic disease affecting millions of people in the United States, with projections indicating continued increases in prevalence and related comorbidities. Pharmacists are increasingly positioned to advise patients and providerson safe and effective medication management for healthy weight loss. Collaboration among pharmacists, patients, and healthcare providers is essential to optimize weight management outcomes.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.
These activities were planned to meet the educational needs of ambulatory care pharmacists, pharmacy learners, and pharmacy technicians who interact with patients and providers engaging in weight management therapies.
