Target Audience

This activity is intended for pharmacy preceptors that focus on wellbeing in residency training, structural innovations such as the flipped research model, a dedicated resident coach role, and a proactive wellness subcommittee.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, the learner should be able to:

  • Identify structural elements of residency training that commonly contribute to resident burnout. 
  • Define opportunities for resident wellbeing in longitudinal residency requirements including research projects & service commitments. 
  • Describe one academic medical center’s approach for initial resident work–life balance plan development.
