This podcast is a brief review of the current evidence describing lean mass changes associated with GLP-1 receptor agonist (GLP-1 RA) use and offers practical counseling tips on strategies to mitigate muscle loss. The podcast will highlight the pharmacist role in counseling patients on nutrition and exercise strategies to preserve muscle health in the setting of GLP-1 RA-induced weight loss.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.
These activities were planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacist practitioners in a variety of health settings (ambulatory care, endocrinology, and community)who are involved in the care of patients receiving GLP-1 RAs.
