Activity Overview
There are growing opportunities to implement pharmacogenomics testing in oncology; however, most pharmacists are unaware of how to best integrate evidence-based testing in clinical practice. Pharmacists are often relied on as drug and pharmacology experts to identify the most appropriate pharmacogenomics tests, implementation methods, interventions, and patient education strategies, yet most pharmacists do not have training in pharmacogenomics. Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of various practice models, available resources available for implementing pharmacogenomics testing, and how insight into how to overcome barriers to implementation.
