Activity Overview

This activity in the series will overview important supportive care topics for cell-based therapies, primarily targeted for practitioners that have less exposure to these therapies but are now being introduced to their use. Specific topics will include tumor lysis syndrome and chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, anti-infective prophylaxis, cytokine release syndrome, and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome.

After participating in this CPE activity, participants should be able to:

Describe a plan to monitor, prevent, and treat complications secondary to CRS based on severity of clinical presentation.
Discuss benefits and challenges of inpatient and outpatient administration of lymphodepleting chemotherapy and cell therapies.
Identify a supportive care regimen for patients receiving cell therapies based on patient specific factors.
