Activity Overview
Pharmacists practicing in the emergency department are called on routinely to assist with procedural sedation, which is a constantly changing landscape. As a result, many pharmacists are unaware of and do not practice according to the most current guidelines. With increased awareness of proper medication selection/monitoring and understanding of the pharmacists’ role in the process, optimal patient care can be provided.
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.
