Activity Overview 

This activity will describe the current pharmacy benefits landscape in relation to the drug supply channel and the role of health-system pharmacies. The program will provide key points for pharmacy leaders to assess strategies to navigate nontransparent legal requirements, in addition to summarizing laws and regulations that affect health-system pharmacies. 

   
The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education with Commendation.

This activity will focus on legal considerations in Specialty Practice for pharmacists. 

After participating in this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Describe the current pharmacy benefits landscape in relation to the drug supply channel and the role of health-system pharmacies.
  • List payer network admission criteria for various pharmacy benefit management (PBM) network requirements.
  • Summarize laws and regulations that impact health-system pharmacies, including rules regarding network access, benefits design, fair audits, and reimbursement rates.

Per ACPE requirements, CPE credit must be claimed within 60 days of being earned. It is an electronic direct-report process so your credits should appear in your account within a few minutes. After the 60 day deadline, ASHP will no longer be able to report your credit(s) for this activity.
