Join us for this timely webinar featuring Dr. Jaime R. Hornecker, Clinical Professor, University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy and Dr. Andrew Watkins, Antimicrobial Stewardship Outreach Pharmacist, at Nebraska Medicine, University of Nebraska Medical Center.  Drs. Hornecker and Watkins will share insights into the Healthy People 2020 initiative goals for immunization programs, the role of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in workflow designs to improve immunization programs and rates, as well as the implications of the current development of COVID-19 vaccines. 

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

This activity was planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

After participating in this CPE activity, learners should be able to:

  1. Summarize progress to meet the Healthy People 2020 goals for immunizations.
  2. Given a scenario, develop strategies to overcome common barriers seen with immunization programs.
  3. Given a case, recommend adaptable pharmacy workflows for inpatient and outpatient pharmacy systems to increase immunization rates.
  4. Assess pharmacy practice implications of current COVID-19 vaccine developments.

This activity consists of recordings of faculty slides presentations, active learning activities, discussion, and handouts.
