Activity Overview
The impact and influence of antimicrobial stewardship programs on ensuring the appropriate use of antimicrobials has been widely demonstrated. These programs, often led by pharmacists, improve patient outcomes, reduce microbial resistance, and decrease the spread of multidrug-resistant infections. Infrastructures supporting antimicrobial stewardship programs, have been essential for optimizing antimicrobial use and discouraging ineffective and unsafe antimicrobial use during COVID-19. During this webinar, hear updates from experts with the CDC and an Infectious Diseases Clinical Specialist to consider lessons learned in antimicrobial stewardship during COVID-19 and advances to extend beyond the pandemic.
