Activity Overview

Availability of COVID-19 tests, their use and time to reporting results has been front and center publically since the start of the pandemic. The impression is many different tests and testing methods were given emergency authorization during the COVID-19 state of emergency and are available for diagnosing COVID-19. How different are they? The science behind the testing methodology, the nuances that exist between available tests and their challenges are presented in this webinar. Attendees will gain knowledge of the four types of COVID-19 diagnostic tests and their properties, when best to use each test and their pros and cons in diagnosing COVID-19. Obtaining test samples also vary, including reliability of the different methods. Test sample methods along with the unique challenges of each testing method are discussed and how best to synthesize current information to best inform patients and colleagues.
